'Vide-poche' translates to empty pockets from French. This version is a double-sided tray for coins, keys, phones, wallets etc... one can either use the division side, or the single tray reverse. Your Vide Poche is designed with your loose-pocket items in mind – think keys, change and phone.
Two finishes; Aluminium and Bronze - both rumble polished and 100% Australian made.
Vide Poche are 180 x 180 x 35mm and come boxed.
It is made, polished and finished in Sydney, Australia.
Sand casting is as much about negative space as it is about form, which is why the object is reversible so consider both sides of your dish.
Vide Poche is manufactured in small batches meaning slight variations will occur from piece to piece. Production marks may include slight pour ripples or surface pitting.
It will arrive with a bright finish but will oxidise and darken over time to reveal a distinctive patina. Simply use a metal polish to restore a like-new finish. -
Henry Wilson was born in Sydney Australia. Graduated honors in Visual Arts (woodwork) at Australian National University, Canberra (2002-2005 BVA (Hons.)) and received the HSP Huygens scholarship at The Design Academy Eindhoven for Postgraduate studies (2008-2010) MA (Des.)
In 2010 he set up a studio for Design in Sydney, notable for the readapting of several disused shipping containers on a vacant industrial site. Though multidisciplinary; the studio is currently focussing on locally produced furniture and lighting. Many items are available as self-build components or fully resolved ‘in-house’ pieces. The collection continues to grow organically; committed to honestly resolved concepts with a focus on longevity.
Whether it be revisiting existing objects or producing new work, Henry is dedicated to experimenting on the process of design and production.
