  • Stainless steel blade, 12cm blade

Good size for campers - a large folding cook's knife when camping!  The N°12 is a robust knife for the toughest challenges. Designed to cut through tough items, the N°12 is the p erfect size for use in outdoors. Used at the table, it becomes an original and effective serving knife for alpine cheese.

Blade: 12cm length. Sandvik 12C27 modified stainless steel. It is anti-corrosive thanks to the addition of chrome and requires no special maintenance. Its carbon content of at least 0.40% gives excellent cutting edge.Blade hardness 57-58 HRC.

Handle: Beech is the most commonly used wood for the manufacture of Opinel handles. From France, our beech is hard, durable and easy to work. With a homogeneous appearance, its light color varies from yellow to pink. It is characterized by the presence of numerous small dark dashes.

Care: With your knife open, wipe the blade with a damp warm sponge and washing-up liquid. Rinse your sponge in warm water and wipe the blade a second time to remove any residue. Immediately dry the blade with a dry cloth. Lubricating the blade with cooking or camellia oil before closing the knife is recommended (this prevents oxidation). Do not immerse your knife in water as this could warp the wooden handle and do not wash the blade by running it under water.

Safety ring: Invented by Marcel Opinel in 1955, the Virobloc safety ring is fitted to all folding knives from the N° 06. Cut out of stainless steel, the Virobloc has two sections, one fixed and one sliding. In addition to locking the blade open (safety in use), it is now possible to lock the blade closed (safety in transport).

His philosophy: 'Good sense, the feeling of comfort when gripped, the convenience of being able to put it in your pocket'.
