Takayuki Watanabe

Takayuki Watanabe is a Japanese ceramic artist working in Shizuoka prefecture, Japan. Watanabe-san learnt his craft at University and Taizo Kuroda studio. These works are wood fired pure natural clay. Takayuki fires only twice a year, making us feel even more lucky to be able to present his works to an Australian audience.

Care:
Handwash with gentle soap or pure hot water and dry with a soft cloth. Leave to dry naturally before storing. Do not microwave nor place in dishwasher.
These works are all food safe, but it is recommended to soak in water before first use as soaking in water assists in 'sealing' the vessel. Due to the slightly porous nature of the clay, as the items are used tea deposits may seep into the glaze. This is a common characteristic of wood fired pottery using more porous clay as the items adapt themselves to the owner's use as each piece becomes even more unique and special.

We receive limited quantities of these very special hand made ceramic works. To be notified when new work by Takayuki Watanabe arrives in store please sign up to the sneak preview email list here.
