Motoshige Japanese suribachi and surigoki (mortar and pestle).

Hand worked grooves inside. With the sharp grooves inside, this mortar and pestle grinds ingredients into a fine paste or powder. Traditionally used in Japan for grinding sesame seeds but can be used for all grinding applications.

The wide bottom with non-slip silicon rubber makes it stable while grinding.

Its steep sides keeps ingredients in the bowl and prevents spilling.
