Kai Nobuo Studio
Nobuo Kai makes cutlery from Mouso bamboo (Phyllostachys edulis) which grows in Oita Prefecture. After having studied woodwork under Tatsuo Tokimatsu based in Yufuin, he started to work following in his father Haruo Kai's footsteps. His cutlery made with great care, shows the advantages of bamboo's stregth and flexibility. Under the theme of "enjoyable table", he intends to carry on making items which fit comfortably in to one's everyday life.
