  • This National Trust high-carbon steel digging spade echoes the style and quality of the garden tools of yesteryear. Celebrating traditional manufacturing techniques, the attention to design detail results in a garden spade with strength and durability, created to make gardening easier for everyone.

This garden spade has been tested to a breaking strain of 100kg – that’s 82% stronger than the British standard. The high-carbon steel head and socket are solid forged from a single piece of metal for optimal strength, with a textured powder coating in a distinctive antique bronze shade to protect from corrosion. Wide comfort treads at the top of the blade prevent any discomfort for feet. A robust D-handle in high-carbon steel gives maximum life, and the joints at socket and D-handle are double-riveted for a secure connection. The FSC® ash shaft and grip give enduring comfort, and the shaft bears a brass plaque as a hallmark of the reassurance of these two trusted names in gardening.

Like all National Trust tools, this digging spade carries a ten-year guarantee. By purchasing these tools, you are helping the British National Trust look after special places for ever, for everyone.
