  • Wood Turning is one of the traditional craft technique of Yamanaka Shikki (lacquer ware in Kanazawa Prefecture), using solid pieces of wood to form shapes. “Soji” means “the plain wood” before lacquer applied and this series features the beautiful character of the natural wood. This is a traditional tea canister, made for storing tea leaves.

    These designs are a collaboration between these traditional makers and Japanese design firm MUTE.

    M size: dia.62mm x h105 mm

    Material: Castor Aralia (food safe urethane coating). As the products are made of natural wood, there are individual differences of the grain pattern. Its texture can be change by the humidity or drying.
