Opinel Pocket Knife No 10
Stainless steel blade, 10cm blade
Good size for campers - cutting and can as an eating knife when camping!
Opinel No10 is a big folding knife that should not really be considered a "pocket" knife. Many people have found that its size make it a perfect every day eating knife that can be folded and stored in the kitchen drawer. Of course this knife has many other uses but please consider its size if you are in the market for a "pocket" knife. The N°10 Stainless Steel is used for outdoor activities but also in more difficult tasks such as trimming branches and working dense materials.
Blade: 12cm length. Carbon steel blade with anti-corrosion coating guaranteeing both excellent cutting quality and protection against corrosion. Two rows of razor-sharp teeth turned towards the handle. Effortless cutting achieved simply by puling.
Handle: Beech is the most commonly used wood for the manufacture of Opinel handles. From France, our beech is hard, durable and easy to work. With a homogeneous appearance, its light color varies from yellow to pink. It is characterized by the presence of numerous small dark dashes.
Care: With your knife open, wipe the blade with a damp warm sponge and washing-up liquid. Rinse your sponge in warm water and wipe the blade a second time to remove any residue. Immediately dry the blade with a dry cloth. Lubricating the blade with cooking or camellia oil before closing the knife is recommended (this prevents oxidation). Do not immerse your knife in water as this could warp the wooden handle and do not wash the blade by running it under water.
Safety ring: Invented by Marcel Opinel in 1955, the Virobloc safety ring is fitted to all folding knives from the N° 06. Cut out of stainless steel, the Virobloc has two sections, one fixed and one sliding. In addition to locking the blade open (safety in use), it is now possible to lock the blade closed (safety in transport).
